The MILO system
MILO is a modular and scalable voice alarm and public address system with unique features for medium to large projects. Based on 19″ rack-mounted devices, the system consists of the controller (MILO-8120), which comes with integrated Class D amplifiers, and additional power amplifiers that can expand the system as multi-channel output stages for audio inputs and outputs as needed.
The MILO-8120 controller functions as a voice alarm system (VAS) for high-priority messages and as a public address system, meaning it can also control all audio systems that handle low-priority audio signals, such as background music in public areas or announcements via paging stations.
The MILO controller offers outstanding audio quality and flexibility:
Equipped with 8 Class D amplifiers for loudspeaker lines up to 120 W at 100 V for sufficient output, 5 audio inputs, an 8×8 audio matrix (40 x 1024 digital), a touchscreen display, audio over IP, and a backup amplifier (redundant amplifier) according to EN 54-16, the controller is optimally prepared for critical situations.
The MILO Configurator software is a platform for configuring and setting up the MILO system via Ethernet. It enables programming and the creation of events that trigger actions within the system. Additionally, it allows for fine-tuning of input and output levels, while the integrated equalizer provides extensive functions for optimizing room acoustics.
RS-232, RS-485, and UDP commands (User Datagram Protocol) are used for time-critical communication with systems such as building management systems. Multiple GPIOs (General Purpose Input/Output) or buttons on the MCS-8B (multi-zone paging station with 8 buttons) can also be configured via software. In this way, volume levels can be adjusted, audio sources can be selected, or stored announcements can be triggered, among other functions.
Key features
- Up to 16 (8 A+B) supervised loudspeaker lines can be connected to the MILO-8120 controller.
- There are 8 preamplifier outputs available for connecting external amplifiers (for public address).
- The system can support up to 8 system paging stations (MCS-8B) or fire department paging stations (FP-AC, Fire-Panel All-Call). Both can be connected using fire-resistant CAT5 UTP cables.
- The system offers a wide range of audio management functions:
- DSP (digital signal processor)
- Parametric 7-band input/output equalizer
- Independent volume control for each I/O channel, including audio filters
- Integrated emergency microphone and built-in monitor speaker
