The MILO system

VAS system MILO
in a 19“ rack with the Solution F1

MILO is a modular and scalable voice alarm and public address system with unique features for medium to large projects. The system, which is based on 19“ rack-mounted devices, consists of the controller (MILO-8120), in which Class D amplifiers are already integrated at the factory. And the power extension amplifiers, which can expand the system sufficiently as multi-channel power amplifiers for the audio inputs and outputs if required.

The MILO-8120 controller is a „Voice Alarm“ system (VA), e.g. for high-priority messages, but also a „Public Address“ system (PA), i.e. it can also control all audio systems that play back audio signals with low-priority, such as background music in public places or announcements via call stations.

The MILO controller has outstanding audio quality and flexibility:

FP-AC (Fire Panel All Call)
Fire brigade call station

MCS-8B
(Multizone Call Station 8 Buttons)
System call station

With 8 Class D amplifiers for speaker lines up to 120W at 100V for sufficient power - 5 audio inputs, an 8x8 audio matrix (40 x 1024 digital, system total), a touchscreen display, audio over IP and a backup amplifier (emergency amplifier) in accordance with EN 54-16; the controller is therefore ideally equipped for emergencies.

The MILO Configurator software is a platform for configuring and setting the MILO system via Ethernet. It enables programming and the creation of events that trigger actions in the system. In addition, fine adjustments of the input and output levels are possible and the integrated equalizer offers extensive functions for setting the optimum room acoustics.

RS-232, RS-485 and UDP commands (User Datagram Protocol) are used for time-critical communication with e.g. building management systems. Several GPIOs (General Purpose Input/Output) or buttons of the MCS-8B (multi-zone intercom with 8 buttons) can also be defined via software. In this way, volume levels can be adjusted, one of the audio sources can be selected, or saved announcements can be started.

Key features

  • Up to 16 (8 A+B) monitored speaker lines can be connected to the MILO-8120 controller.
  • There are 8 preamplifier outputs for connecting external amplifiers (for sound reinforcement).
  • Up to 8 system call stations (MCS-8B) or fire panels (FP-AC, Fire-Panel All-Call) can be connected to the system.
  • Both can be connected with a fire retardant CAT5 UTP cable.
  • The system has numerous audio management functions:
    • DSP (digital signal processor),
    • 7-band parametric input/output equalizer,

Solution F1
The Reliability
If for certain applications a higher reliability as EN-54 and VdS standards is required – that will be no problem for the “Solution F1” control panel: the Control Processing Unit can be doubled as well as the system boards which are responsible for the communication with the sensors and which passes the information from the detectors to the CPU. So the end user gets a 100 percent redundancy of the whole system. But the R&D people did not stop the ambitious aims for reliability there:
They created a brand new control panel technology – with absolutely no mechanical parts any longer – which is unique in the security business and which has a lot of advantages for the installer as well as for the end user. It contains a pressure sensitive piezo lacquer and does not have to be adjusted. The surface makes a worth-while impression because of its glass like design. This material is resistant against cleansing, there is absolutely no attrition over years and moreover it is very stable against EMC influences.

The product range
The “Solution F1-6“ panel has as standard a 24 V DC power supply with max. current of 4.2 A. The user can connect up to 6 loops – each with 254 loop devices (127 detectors/modules plus 127 loop sounder) – to this panel and can organize a max. of 512 zones. There are three standard housings which should be chosen depending on battery backup requirements.

The bigger model “Solution F1-18” has a 24 V DC power supply with max. current of 6.7 A fitted as standard. This panel can control 18 loops as its maximum. Again there are 3 standard housings available. The selection is dependent on battery space and number of loops needed. This “Solution F1-18” has several more standard features compared with the smaller panel: 1.024 programmable zones, USB host interface, metal rack for 2nd assembly level, interface for optional TFT display, slot for SD card memory and interface for audio codec module.

Both models can be supplied in a 19 inch rack mounting version instead of a standard housing. There are no special adapters or frames necessary because the “Solution F1” is generally compatible to 19 inch housings. The pluggable wiring terminals will be greatly appreciated because the installation will be done very quickly and effectively.

PLG_SYSTEM_BDTHEMES_SHORTCODES_BOX_TITLE_DEFAULT

NSC web server-module
For software configuration or data analysis by telephone line the technician can connect the panels via modem (analogue or ISDN) with his PC. Therefore you will find a slot at the main board which not only handles the data communication but it provides the power supply for these modems too.

Alternatively the Soliton F1 control panels can be equipped by a web server.
